Robin Chapple - Lead Candidate for Mining and Pastoral

  • mining-and-pastoral

Robin Chapple

The former Greens (WA) MLC for the Mining and Pastoral Region, Robin is currently the West Australian Director of the Minerals Policy Institute and Co-convener of Friends of Australian Rock Art.

Robin has a long history of contributing to regional WA having worked for a major mining corporation, been a Port Hedland Councilor for 7 years, helped establish the first environment group in the Hedland area and chaired the inaugural North West Games. He was later on the board of management of the Northern Goldfields Federal Rangeways Project which studied sustainable land use, pastoralism and the impacts of mining and tourism, and was a member of the Rural Assessment Panel for Land Care in the Pilbara, Gascoyne Murchison and the Kimberley’s.

Robin believes that the Mining and Pastoral Region, Australia’s most significant economic hub remains devoid of many of the economic benefits it deserves.
